EXCITING UPDATES!

In my original Story of my transplant, I wrote that I had never met or learned of my transplant donor family. This changed on January 10th, 2018 as I responded to a post on a Transplant page I follow on Facebook. The post was a gentleman who was looking for what he called his "transplant twin" or rather, another individual with whom he shared donors. I had always focused so much on my donor's family that I had not really given the recipients much thought. The man desired for us to post our date and type of transplants we received. So I answered --  LIVER, 08-08-01.

Only 3 minutes later, THIS HAPPENED!  (screenshots of comments)

It's obvious that I was still clueless in the beginning with nothing "clicking" when she wrote TULSA! (I live about 2 hours from Tulsa) To be honest, I had given up on the idea of ever meeting my donor family and as I mentioned, hadn't even really thought of any other recipients and had even moved it to my mind's "recycle bin".  This week, I'VE RESTORED IT ALL to the forefront and can hardly function because it's all I think about.

That evening, I was able to speak with Melanie (in the comments) and we spent a few minutes hitting the high spots and even told me of a heart recipient she met who also shares our donor. The following day she introduced me to my donor's sisters on Facebook and I'm looking forward in the next few months to traveling to Tulsa to meet my new family and circle of friends.

I CAN'T STOP THANKING GOD FOR THIS AMAZING GIFT HE'S GIVEN.
